April 6, 2017 – STEAM Break, a week which focuses on science, technology, engineering, arts, and math, kicks off next week at the Cabarrus County Public Library. The weeklong celebration coincides with Cabarrus County Schools’ Spring Break schedule (April 14 through April 22), and will include various STEAM-related experiences, along with official North Carolina Science Festival programs.

The NC Science Festival was the first state-wide science festival in the nation, and has hosted more than 1,000,000 participants since its inception. This year, the library is headlining six official festival events, including an Earth Day collaboration with Cabarrus County Active Living and Parks at the new Rob Wallace Park dedication celebration on April 22.
No matter your age, STEAM Break at the library offers something for everyone, from CD hovercraft races, to pendulum art, to tie-dye ice paintings.
