The Department of Social Services has several different programs to assist the community and will cover the cost for their transportation. Medicaid will cover transportation to doctor appointments and pharmacy visits (for prescription pickups only). The Work First Family Assistance program will cover transportation to job searches and one month on the job. There are many other programs with The Department of Social Services. Please contact your caseworker to learn what is available to you. If you don't have a caseworker or you are not sure who your caseworker is, please contact the main line at The Department of Social Services for assistance at (704) 920-1596.

The Department of Aging will assist clients that are over sixty years of age and are not receiving Medicaid. The Department of Aging will also cover the cost for transportation to doctor appointments and pharmacy visits (for prescription pickups only). The Lunch Plus Club program and monthly special events are also a part of The Department of Aging services. If you think you may qualify for transportation through The Department of Aging, please call for assistance: (704) 920-3484.

The LifeSpan Employment and Enrichment programs are for clients with mental or physical disabilities.
