One-Stop and Absentee Voting

Absentee Voting

Absentee Voting is comprised of two methods by which registered voters may cast ballots, which take the place of appearing in person and casting a ballot on the day of the election.

These methods are absentee by mail (civilian Absentee Voting and military and overseas citizens Absentee Voting) and absentee in-person (One-Stop Absentee Voting).

  • 1st day to Mail out Absentee Ballot – Monday, January 13, 2020
  • Last day to request an Absentee Ballot - Tuesday, February 25, 2020
  • All Absentee by Mail Ballots must be received at the Board of Elections office by 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3, 2020

One-Stop Absentee Voting

Any registered NC voter may choose to vote in person using One-Stop Absentee Voting consisting of a 17 day period before the election, which ends the Saturday prior to the election. NC voters are able to vote by Absentee One-Stop at the Board of Elections offices during specified hours.
