A school campus – whether elementary, middle, or high school – typically defines a community. By combining schools with parks, everyone benefits. Citizens identify with the campus as a part of their neighborhood and a convenient gathering place for recreational activities, additional recreation facilities for use by teachers and children during school hours and home athletic fields and gymnasiums for the various youth athletic leagues are provided. There are currently 35 school parks consisting of playgrounds, ballfields, walking trails and more located throughout the Cabarrus County and City of Kannapolis School Systems.
