North Cabarrus Park, 760 Orphanage Road, Kannapolis...Perfect for more passive pursuits, North Cabarrus Park offers a relaxing place to get away. Come relax on one of the several free standing porch swings or enjoy a picnic under a canopy of trees. This 90 acre park which opened in 2002 was carefully designed to compliment the area’s natural beauty. The park will undergo 6 phases of development before final completion. The park features 2 playgrounds, a volleyball court, basketball courts, horseshoes pits, boardwalk around the back of the pond, 9 hole disc golf course, and a nature trail. Tennis courts, mountain bike trails, a bridge to cross the creek, and parking lot are planned for the future. The park is a cooperative effort of two government agencies and a private corporation. The city of Kannapolis and the Church of God’s Children's Home leased the land to Cabarrus County for the development of the park. Cabarrus County Parks Department developed and maintains the park.
